Over the next several weeks we are bringing the R-2 Decorticator System to market. Farm equipment fabrication shops in Ontario are building the first units for Summer 2019.
Progress on the project has picked up steam over the past month. Serious upgrades have been made with corresponding design changes. A significant decision is to include a bale unwinder as an integrated component. This ensures that the unit will be fully functional upon arrival. A local company makes these unit an "off the shelf" decision. You will be able to load a bale immediately and begin work without buying a suitable bale ripper or trying to make existing equipment "work".
Alliance Members will have access to more information and details on the site. We have a full design update in the works. Alliance Members will receive details and progress reports.
This new R-2 design is based partly upon decorticator machines built for other crops, such as banana, pineapple, sisal and palm. Hemp patents from the 1940's 1950's and 1960's were included in the design; updated with modern CAD design and material specifications. Advances made over the past seventy years are significant when it comes to building farm equipment to handle hemp crops.
Final decorticator machine-head system is being built into a self-contained 40' "high cube" shipping container unit that includes all critical functions: power, input, processing, throughput, dust control & waste handling. Additional baling equipment will complete an automated installation. This is a semi-portable unit designed to be run outdoors.
